Read Beyond the Beaten Path

2022 Summer Reading Challenge

June 1-July 9

The theme for 2022 Summer Reading is Read Beyond the Beaten Path. The broad motif of "summer camp at the library" will encompass a world of different summer experiences: from outdoor activities such as hiking, campfires, stories, and s'mores to nature programs, arts & crafts, music, and so much more!

This year the Wood River Public Library will be partnering with the East Alton Public Library District to enhance your summer reading experience.

Join us for weekly for events for all ages. Activities will take place at both WRPL and EAPLD.

Kick Off Party

Join us on Thursday, June 2 from 5:00-7:00 as we Kick off the summer!

This free event is family friendly and features, games, activities, crafts, food, and prizes.

6:00 we will announce the Pie in the Face winner!

We are excited for this year's theme for our annual
Pie in the Face fundraiser! School Spirit

We are once again creating two teams to go head to head.

Remember the way this works, you donate to the team you
want to see get a pie in the face. Each dollar is like a "vote".

Rob Miller- Superintendent

Leigh Robinson- Principal

Kevin Gockel- Assistant Principal

Mark Beatty- Athletic Director/Dean

Team Lewis & Clark

Dr. Patrick Anderson- Superintendent, WRH15

Jill Christeson- Principal, Lewis & Clark Elementary

Radena Lemmon- Principal, Lewis & Clark Jr High

Natalie Boullion- Principal, Hartford Elementary

You can donate with cash or check inside the library or you
can donate online. Simply choose "donation" from the drop down menu and put "Pie in the Face- [team you want to see get a pie]. One donation and three people get pies!

This year we are raising money to get new furniture in the teen area, located on the second floor of the library. Our goal is $4000.00.
